How to Contact Aaron

You may be wondering how, and how much I plan to stay in contact with the world outside the trail. For most of the time, this answers itself. I don't expect to get wifi from the trees or receive avian mail to my tent. Most cellular signals don't reach the trail, and I will be keeping my phone in airplane mode to save battery power. I won't be hiking by a regular predictable schedule, and I don't plan to stop at every post-office along the way. Even if there was an extremely urgent need for the world to get in touch with me, the world would have to wait.

So, what should you do?

To talk with me over the phone:

I will be checking my email when I get into town. This will be around every 4-8 days. Please send me an email letting me know that you want me to call you back, and I'll be happy to. I won't be reliably checking any social media, messaging apps, or emails other than azimmerberg@gmail.com. I'd rather have everything by email because its easier to manage all in one place.

To send me something:

Please email me first, and I can give you better instructions on how to mail it. I might ask you to mail it to my parents first, so multiple things can be sent in one box. Although I love surprises, please don't send me something that I can't enjoy or consume while in town unless we've already talked about it.

To let me know how you feel about the blog:

Please keep the anonymous or named comments coming. Who knows, I might even respond some day.

  1. Off to a great start! Love the gear list accounting for all ounces, which will feel like pounds by about mile 100. Ya'er Adonai panav elekha vihuneka.

  3. Loved seeing your tent in action and the photo of the owl. Easy work for him without leaves on the trees. Bigger mountains than I would have expected and your not in the Smokies yet. Best seeing you look so happy 😊😊
